Finlaystone Castle

The original Finlaystone House was built in the 14th century and incorporates a 15th century castle. It was extended in 1760 and 1900.

The property was owned by the Cunningham Earls of Glencairn and John Knox preached at Finlaystone in 1556 and later Robert Burns called on the Earl. It is now the home of the chief of the Clan MacMillan. But you don't have to be a MacMillan to enjoy the woodlands and gardens of the estate.

See also Places to Visit - Finlaystone Castle for more information and illustrations.
