Edinburgh Photo Library
- Edinburgh Skyline
This view across Edinburgh was taken from Arthur's Seat, a volcanic outcrop which overlooks the city. Clearly seen on the horizon is Edinburgh castle. The Royal Mile runs down past the spire of the Tolbooth church (the highest in Edinburgh) and St Giles Cathedral - all clearly visible on the skyline.
To the left of the castle is the tower above George Heriot's School, one of Edinburgh's many private schools.
Of course, no view of Edinburgh's skyline would be complete without a crane towering above the latest new construction (see on the left of the picture).
