The Scottish Snippets Newsletter in its original format began in April 1997 and continued in an unbroken series for 591 issues. Although no longer produced in that style, there is now this regular update on the new and updated pages on the Rampant Scotland site including "Scottie's Photo Diary From Scotland" and Tam's Tall Tales.

Sir Walter Scott letter under the hammer

Jeanie Deans, the central character in Sir Walter Scott's "The Heart of Midlothian" was always thought to be based on the true story of Helen Walker. Now a handwritten letter by the author confirms that Scott received an anonymous letter informing him of the story of the woman. The letter is now being auctioned. The next newsletter is scheduled for 5 December and will be a mixture of various items, including "Memory Lane" and a Scottish Pictorial Calendar for 2016.
