Inverlochy Castle

" Inverlochy is one of the most luxurious hotels in Scotland"
The Lady Magazine

However you may arrive at Inverlochy, by train to Fort William, driving north from Edinburgh through the dramatic Glencoe Valley, or up the pretty coast road from Oban, the first sight of this grand house, amidst 500 acres of private gardens, is a sheer delight.

Tradition is very much the key word. Modern conveniences and interior decoration apart, the style is all in keeping with the period. As you walk through the grand public rooms or stroll in the walled garden, with its fruit trees, box hedging and green-houses, you might truly believe the Scarlett family are still at home. Enjoy a pre-dinner game of snooker with its long green baize table, and you are surrounded by the heads of the stags shot by William Scarlett, when he served in Canada with the Scots Fusilier Guards in the mid 19th century. The original antiques and paintings, drapes and sweeping stair case, are all very much in keeping of the time this was a Victorian family home.

A bedroom in Inverlochy Castle Hotel The seventeen bedrooms all have a unique design and outlook, with views down to the loch and up to the Ben Nevis mountain range.
