Glendoick is no ordinary garden centre. Of course, there is a well-appointed commercial sales outlet but that is just the start. There is also a high quality tea room serving a range of food and drink - and an area outside with tables and chairs for those sunny days. Then there is the "Japanese Garden" which is where the photos below were taken. Although these illustrations were taken in July, the plants in the garden have been selected to provide colour all year round. And there are also some amusing Japanese statues like the one on the right.
Finally, there is a Glendoick House where parties of visitors can arrange a conducted tour round the formal gardens (a treat in the spring) and a long woodland walk for the more energetic.
Glendoick is well sign-posted on the main Perth to Dundee road.
There are 8 photos above, taken in July 2002. The images in this Javascript "Flip Book" will appear in sequence once the files have downloaded - so long as your browser can handle Javascript of course. Please be patient - the files total 200kb.
If you place the mouse pointer over the images, the name of flower will (eventually) appear on the status line at the foot of your browser window.
