Ardoch Cottage, Orchil Castle, near Braco, Perthshire is a luxury self-catering cottage sleeping 6, in a modern, self-contained wing of this Victorian castle on a beautiful, 35-acre, private estate. Balbirnie House Hotel, Markinch, Fife is a listed Grade 'A' Georgian country house dating from 1777 in a 416-acre estate and country park landscaped in the style of Capability Brown which includes specimen trees, a collection of rhododendrons, manicured lawns, picturesque flowering borders and trimmed yew hedges. The Scottish Tourist Board has awarded has 5 Crowns Deluxe and the hotel won the 1995 Regional Hotel of the Year award and the 1996 Macallan/Taste of Scotland Hotel of the Year Award.

Ballachulish Hotel was built in 1640 and is an historic country estate within view of Ben Nevis, close to the Great Glen, and within a stone's throw of Lochs Linnie and Leven. This restored country house offers en suite rooms with Scottish cuisine in a relaxing atmosphere. The house is noted as the site formally occupied by Captain Campbell who was ordered to carry out the massacre in Glencoe. Ballachulish is also famous for the Appin murder, immortalized by Robert Louis Stevenson's "Kidnapped" - Ballachulish House was once home to the Stuarts of Appin. Sundrum Castle is 4 miles from Ayr and is amongst the oldest inhabited castles of Scotland, dating back to the war of Scottish Independence. The present castle, with 12 feet thick walls, was built in the 1360's. However, it has now been fitted out to rent as a whole on a self catering basis, without losing its ancient history. Woodlea Hotel in York Place in Perth on the edge of the city centre, was once the manse of the adjacent church building. It is a small family-run establishment with comfortable accommodation and a reputation for High Teas. There is a comfortable residents lounge with a fully-stocked bar. There are 9 double/twin rooms ensuite, with 5 located on ground floor plus 2 singles (one ensuite) and a family room (which sleeps up to four). Woodland Holidays self-catering lodges at Kincaple, is three miles from St Andrews and with countryside views over fields to the Eden Estuary and St Andrews.
