- Scotstarvit Tower, Fife

Scotstarvit Tower

This 16th century L-plan tower is located two miles south of Cupar and was initially owned by the Inglis family. But it was bought by the Scotts in 1611. Although the Scott family is usually associated with the Scottish Borders, over 100 miles further south, there were Scotts in this part of Fife from early times.

A magnificent, carved fireplace with the date 1627 and the initials of Sir John Scot and his wife Anne Drummond was moved from Scotstarvit Tower to the nearby Hill of Tarvit Mansionhouse when it was built in 1906.
