Congratulations to Shona Leckie from Angus who toasted the opposition in the World Marmalade Awards. Ms Leckie beat competition from a record 30 countries to lift the highest accolade at this year's competition which was held in Cumbria. It was the first time that someone from Scotland had won a top prize in this competion.

Her treacle marmalade was entered in the quirky Marmalade with a Twist category. Hopefully it will sell well when it goes on the shelves at London's posh Fortnum & Mason as 50 pence from each jar sold being donated to charity.

The winner said: "As a farmer's daughter I have been making marmalade and jam for a number of years, and have had a degree of success in local competitions.
