Scotland's finest tennis player has gone in to the hotel business. Cromlix House Hotel near Dunblane has been refurbished by the tennis star, with the help of his trusty mum Judy, and bookings are healthy.

Andy bought the country house hotel, which is set in 34 acres of woodland, for £1,8 million in February 2013 and has spent an undisclosed sum bringing it up to a high standard.

Commenting on his new venture, Andy said: "By re-establishing Cromlix as a leading luxury hotel at the heart of the Dunblane community we will be able to attract new visitors to the area, create a number of new jobs and focus on supporting other local businesses. I'm pleased to be able to give something back to the community I grew up in."

The catering is under the supervision of veteran French cook Albert Roux and I am hopeful that Scottie will short-list the venue for an editorial meeting in the near future.
