- Emma MacInnes

Emma MacInnes

Emma MacInnes is a 14-year-old from North Uist in the Western Isles. She began singing (in Gaelic) at the age of seven and her sweet, pure voice won her the gold medal at the National Gaelic Mod at Largs in 2002. She has also appeared in a BBC Gaelic TV drama. In her introduction to her songs, she invited the audience to "sing along" in the chorus. Surprisingly, considering the small number of Scots who can speak Gaelic these days, a fair number of folk did join in!
